About Dr. Paul Dabney, NMD, MPH, M.Ed, Ph.D. (c): Naturopathic Specialist in Decatur, GA
Trust your health to a naturopathic specialist with more than 20 years of experience. As an avid learner who is not satisfied with mediocre understanding of a problem, naturopathic medicine suits me well. If I am not able to solve a clinical puzzle, an irresistible urge to understand and master it bubbles up inside of me, which spurs me to continue searching for a solution. The more I study medicine, the more I want to learn, and the wide variety of complex scenarios in natural medicine provides a perfect avenue for me to exercise this curiosity.
I am aware of the challenges facing the naturopathic profession, but ironically, these challenges are what make this profession so rewarding. They continue to drive me as a naturopathic consultant and inspire me to better understand and treat human illnesses.\
My practice, the Center for Natural Health & Optimal Wellness LLC, offers patients natural and drug-free services, covering digestion disorders, arthritis, ADHD, adrenal fatigue, and stress management, and others. As a result, I continue to serve as an active consultant and medical investigator to many physicians in different areas of medicine, where I offer alternative solutions to many challenging and complex clinical scenarios.
I live in Decatur, Georgia, with my wife Dr. Andrea Dabney, MD, and our two beautiful daughters, Alexandria and Analise.
Professional Experience
As a longtime medical researcher, consultant, microbiologist, medical biochemistry professor, naturopathic specialist, author, and presenter, I’ve had the unique privilege of collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Michigan State School of Veterinary Medicine, and East Tennessee State School of Medicine. My careers with these institutions have allowed me to pursue my interests in epidemiology, clinical microbiology, microbiology research, and investigate the cause and spread of antimicrobial resistance food-borne pathogenic bacteria in the United States.
As a result of my clinical and scientific training, as well as military experience as an Army Preventative Medical Officer, I built expertise in the areas of biological toxins, antimicrobial resistance of foodborne pathogens, and disease and injury prevention. However, as I witnessed the progression of illness and diseases among patients despite scientific advances in conventional medicine, I changed my focus and scientific venue to naturopathic medicine.
Education
I completed my Naturopathic Medicine Degree at Kingdom College and Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Science. Prior to this, I completed advanced degrees and sought educational training in Microbiology, Science Education, and Public Health Epidemiology. I graduated with honors in three categories (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) during my graduate studies. Currently, I am in the process of completing my Ph.D. in Public Health with an emphasis in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology.
